Do I need a wedding videographer?

A wedding is a happy transition to the next stage of life. Thanks to the endless possibilities of wedding videography, an important day is preserved in the family archives down to the smallest detail. An experienced wedding videographer creates a unique film that allows you to relive precious moments over and over again.

Your wedding video could look like this

Reasons why you need a wedding videographer

Just a few years ago, a wedding videographer was the exception rather than the rule. Many brides still had fresh memories of wedding films from the 90s – boring amateur reports lasting several hours with all the wedding attributes from back then.

Thankfully, modern weddings aren’t the way we used to see them, and the approach to wedding video has changed too. But if no one doubts the need for a professional photographer or stylist, then for many the question of whether a videographer is needed remains relevant.

In our opinion, a wedding videographer is the same mandatory professional at a wedding as a wedding presenter or caterer. If wedding photos are the saved moments of the most important day, then video is its dynamic. This is not only a beautiful picture, but also an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the day, to relive the mood and emotions, to hear a loved one’s voice tremble as he or she says the vows, and to see the happy tears of your families and friends.

A wedding video, in addition to a photograph, creates a complete, three-dimensional picture of the celebration and will undoubtedly evoke a vivid emotional response. By the way, a short trailer of 3-5 minutes is also a great opportunity to show your wedding friends on social networks, because not everyone manages to look at an album with five hundred photos from your wedding.

How do I choose a wedding videographer?

Before you start your search, think about what exactly you want from a wedding video together with the groom. Should it be a short clip with background music that contains the most important moments of the day, or would you like a film report of the free wedding ceremony and/or the wedding? What recording and processing style do you like? Need drone footage? What budget do you have available? Would you also like a love story shoot before the wedding?

You will most likely need to watch some wedding videos to clearly articulate your videographer requirements, but take the time to do so – because wedding videos, like photos, are memories that will stay with you for many years to come.

A personal meeting to get to know each other is also extremely important in order to understand whether you like the wedding videographer as a person and not just his work. Shooting a wedding video can be quite difficult for most bridal couples: If the photographer can suggest a kind of static pose during a photo shoot, then dynamics, movements and looseness in front of the camera are more important for the video. And if you’re uncomfortable with the person on the other side of the camera, stiffness and awkwardness are inevitable.
